CYPRUS SHORT FILM DAY
Cyprus Short Film Day (CSFD) is the official annual event promoting Cypriot cinema in London, organized by the Cultural Section of the Cyprus High Commission and sponsored by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports and Youth – Cultural Services of Cyprus. The festival takes place every year in autumn at the fabulous May Fair Theatre with guest filmmakers from Cyprus and the UK, who get the opportunity to exchange views with the festival’s international audience.
For our 5th installment, and given the fact that we cannot yet return to the cinema theatres because of the Covid-19 pandemic, CSFD releases The Lockdown Collection, a curated selection of films featured in previous editions, which this year coincides with the online festival “Cyprus at 60”, celebrating the 60th anniversary of the Republic of Cyprus.
I hope you enjoy these little gems from the comfort of your individual screens, in the hope to soon return to the cinema theatre and film watching as primarily a social event, where audiences and filmmakers are challenged, and new ideas are given birth to.
