A THOUSAND SHIPS by Natalie Haynes

British Museum WC1B 3DG London, United Kingdom Saturday, 22 February 2020 from 11:00-16:00 Project Season Women presents a staged reading of Natalie Haynes’ novel A Thousand Ships, directed by Magdalena Zira and Athina Kasiou, on February 22nd 2020, at the British Museum in London. A myth of huge cultural significance for Western civilisation, traditionally told as a story of male heroism, is retold through a choral narration of multiple female characters. The main narrator is Calliope, Muse of epic poetry, who answers the poet’s invocation to “sing” the story of the Trojan War, in an unexpected way. Supported by the A.G. Leventis Foundation, the Cultural Services of the Cyprus Ministry of Education, Culture, Sport and Youth, and the Gilbert Murray Trust. Under the auspices of His Excellency the High Commissioner of Cyprus Mr Andreas Kakouris. More info: https://www.facebook.com/events/175230767077025/
