Dr Jennifer Webb is Adjunct Professor in the Department of Archaeology and History at La Trobe University in Melbourne, Australia, and Senior Research Associate in the Department of Archaeology and History of the University of Cyprus. She is a Fellow of the Australian Academy of the Humanities and of the Society of Antiquaries, London. She was made a Member of the Order of Australia in 2017 for ‘significant service to education, particularly to archaeology, as an academic, researcher and author’. Jenny studied at the University of Melbourne and the British School at Athens and received her PhD in 1988. She has co-directed Australian excavations at Marki, Deneia and Politiko in Cyprus and published both these and older excavations at Ambelikou in 1942 and Karmi in 1962. She is currently conducting research on 80 Early and Middle Bronze Age tombs excavated in 1913 and 1917 at Lapithos. She has also published collections of Cypriot antiquities in Australia and the UK and written many papers and book chapters on the archaeology of Bronze Age Cyprus. Jenny is also co-editor of a monograph series called Studies in Mediterranean Archaeology, which is dedicated to the archaeology of all periods in the Mediterranean region.
