A Celebration of Spring at Cyprus House

Cyprus House was filled to capacity for a truly memorable evening as we welcomed the Prometheas String Quartet for Colours of Spring From Vivaldi to Piazzolla.
A full house and a wonderful mix of familiar and new faces came together to celebrate music, culture and community. As reflected in the photographs from the evening, the atmosphere was vibrant, warm and full of energy. It was a fitting way to welcome the arrival of spring in London, as the days grow longer and the city begins to open itself to new rhythms and possibilities.
We warmly congratulate the four exceptional musicians of the Prometheas String Quartet. Nikos Pittas, Iraklis Mitellas, Nikolas Papageorgiou and Miranda Papaneocleous delivered a performance of remarkable quality, sensitivity and dynamism. Their programme carried the audience across cultures and eras, bringing together some of the most beloved works of the classical repertoire.
A particularly special moment of the evening was the performance of Cypriot composer Solon Michaelides and his work Quartet (1934). It was a powerful reminder of Cyprus’s rich musical heritage and its place within the wider European cultural landscape.
We extend our sincere thanks to the Xenophon Protopapas Foundation, whose generous support made this event possible and continues to strengthen the presence of Cypriot culture abroad.
Our gratitude also goes to the Consul General of the Republic of Cyprus in the United Kingdom, Mr Odysseas Odysseos, whose vision and support brought this evening together and made it such a success.
This is how we welcomed spring at Cyprus House. Through music, connection and shared cultural experience. And as the season continues, we look forward to many more moments that bring our community together in equally meaningful ways.
