The Cyprus High Commission is pleased to host a special event organised by EUNIC London and the UK Coalition for Cultural Diversity (UKCCD) to mark the 20th Anniversary of UNESCO’s 2005 Convention on the Protection and Promotion of the Diversity of Cultural Expressions.

This unique gathering will bring together government representatives, cultural leaders, and artists to reflect on the Convention’s global impact—supporting creators, shaping cultural policy in the age of AI, and advancing culture’s role in the UN 2030 Sustainable Development Goals. With 160 members worldwide, the Convention also ensures active participation from civil society.
The afternoon will conclude with a reception and a live performance by the One World Orchestra. Programme and speakers will be announced soon.

The UK Coalition for Cultural Diversity (UKCCD) is the UK’s leading civil society network supporting UNESCO’s landmark 2005 Convention. As a consultative partner to UNESCO-UK and the UK government, UKCCD connects over 600 creator and cultural organisations worldwide and works with European partners to promote inclusive, pluralistic cultural policy online and offline. EUNIC London (European Union National Institutes for Culture) is the network of cultural institutes and embassies from EU member states in London. Established in 2007, its 37 members collaborate to promote European cooperation and partnerships with UK cultural organisations.
