About the exhibition:
Exclusive exhibition showcasing the work of 12 young Cypriot fashion designers and artists, who uniquely blend Cypriot cultural heritage and contemporary and sustainable fashion and art.
The exhibition ‘revives’ and redefines traditional Cypriot practices by showcasing sustainable and versatile garments. Everyday practices and traditions that historically characterised Cypriot life, including harvesting and agriculture, pottery and weaving, are celebrated in the exhibition.
About FHNC:
The Fashion Heritage Network Cyprus ( FHNC) is a new pioneering platform that strives to celebrate and preserve Cypriot fashion heritage through contemporary sustainable fashion. This network consists of young Cypriot fashion designers and artists who aim to explore the beauty and 4 uniqueness of Cypriot fashion heritage through zero-waste and sustainable fashion designs and art pieces. As an intercommunal initiative, the group includes 40 young Cypriots volunteers who reside both in Cyprus and in the diaspora. The FHNC promotes its values through exhibitions and events and online content. The initiative is supported by the Royal Commonwealth Society, British High Commission in Cyprus, the Australian High Commission in Cyprus, the Youth Board of Cyprus (ONEK), Fashion Revolution Cyprus, the Commonwealth Fashion Council, Home for Cooperation, the Circular Economy Alliance, UNFICYP, LCOY Cyprus, Lefkoşa Gençlik Derneği and the Cyprus Youth Council.
