Amikeco: a unique puppet show that achieves to convey deep emotions with no words, in a musically poetic and funny way at the same time.Using puppets as one of the most extraordinary theatrical instruments, we travel to a sweet and nostalgic world, where Amikeco, the protagonist, demonstrates the power of love and the value of true friendship.

The name AMIKECO derives from Esperanto, the most widely used international language created to harmonise the different peoples of the world. In this unique language, “amikeco” means friendship.Following Esperanto’s noble conception of intercultural communication among the people of all nations, the performance “AMIKECO” exclusively uses music. Without words, Canicula Puppets’ play, uses music as a universal communication tool. Music has always allowed for the expression of impressions and emotions, regardless of space and time. In this performance, the composition of the music was exclusively and specifically composed for Amikeko.

The music plays the second leading role, accompanying the protagonist through his many adventures while he is looking for something very important for him, something that the audience discovers along the way! Amikeco is suitable for the whole family (starting from kids 3+) and, as it has no spoken language, it is suitable for everyone, regardless of origin or language.

The team: Melpo Agapiou (coordinator of the initiative) Roberto Braham Chavez (script, director, puppets manipulation) Sergio Marroquin de Leon (music, scriptwriter assistant), Helene Josephides (volunteer - puppets manipulation).
