We are thrilled to share the first look at Maria Vigar’s Love In A Foreign Land, which opened last night (26 March) at The Playground Theatre for a three-week run until 12 April 2025.

This powerful new play, produced by Maria Vigar Productions in collaboration with Theatre Lab Company, is inspired by a true story spanning from 1959 to 2009. It follows the journey of a woman who leaves her home in Nicosia, Cyprus, defying cultural norms and youthful expectations, to cross the sea in search of her husband. What unfolds is a lifetime of migration, love, and longing — an intensely moving portrayal of the immigrant experience.

Directed by award-winning Greek director Anastasia Revi, with music composed and arranged by bestselling author Louis de Bernières (Captain Corelli's Mandolin), the production features a professional cast of eight, including Lucy Christofi Christy and Elena Hadjiafxendi.
