The Cultural Section of the Cyprus High Commission joins the Romanian Cultural Institute in London for a special evening bringing together poetry, translation, music and live performance.

At the heart of the event is The Performance, the new English-language poetry collection by Romanian poet Peter Sragher, featuring poems written to be heard and experienced live. He will be joined by British-Cypriot actress, singer and creator Elena Hadjiafxendi, and British poet, playwright and spoken-word artist Andy Willoughby, Writer in Residence at Redhills Miners’ Hall in Durham.

Through individual and collaborative performances, original poems and translations, the evening will explore the creative connections between poets, performers and musicians—and the ways poetry can travel between languages, countries and artistic forms.

The collaboration grew from Peter Sragher’s meeting with Elena Hadjiafxendi at the International Festival of Larnaca and his subsequent writing inspired by Cyprus. The event brings the Cypriot, Romanian and British cultural communities together for an evening of exchange and shared creation.

Further information and booking details will be announced soon through the website of the Romanian Cultural Institute in London: www.rcilondon.co.uk.
