Rivers
A literary and visual installation at Cyprus House
Following its summer presentation in St James’s Square Garden, Rivers returns this autumn in a new indoor form at Cyprus House.
The words of Costas Mannouris and the visual world created by Eugenios Gavriil move from the park into the gallery, where poems, images and fragments of thought will flow through the space like rivers.
Originally inspired by the idea of dry riverbeds within us — places where words, conversations, truths, silences and memories once flowed — Rivers reflects on the power of language to connect us, comfort us, wound us, and remain with us long after a moment has passed.
Inside Cyprus House, the installation allows the poems to take on a new life. Words will appear across the space, suspended, layered and encountered gradually, inviting visitors to move through the exhibition at their own pace and experience the relationship between text, image and memory.
Come and spend time with the words of Costas Mannouris and the illustrations of Eugenios Gavriil, and discover a work that asks us to think about what we say, what we leave unsaid, and what remains.
