The Cultural Section of the Cyprus High Commission in London is pleased to host the Cypriot Educational Mission in the UK for a lecture by Dr Giorgos Yiallourides, entitled "Traditional Dance as a Path to Wellbeing and Cultural Identity in the Diaspora."

Traditional dance has long served as a powerful expression of cultural heritage, bringing communities together through shared movement, music, and collective memory. In this thought-provoking lecture, Dr Yiallourides explores how traditional dance contributes to emotional wellbeing, social cohesion, and the preservation of cultural identity, particularly within diaspora communities.
Drawing on his extensive experience in education and physical activity, Dr Yiallourides examines the educational, cultural, and social dimensions of traditional dance, highlighting its enduring relevance in strengthening connections between generations and sustaining a living cultural heritage.
Dr Giorgos Yiallourides is First Education Officer at the Ministry of Education, Sport and Youth of the Republic of Cyprus, where he is responsible for matters relating to Physical Education and its pedagogical development. His work focuses on promoting holistic education through movement, health, and cultural engagement.
The lecture will be delivered in Greek.
