The Cultural Section of the High Commission of the Republic of Cyprus in the UK is delighted to conclude its 2026 cultural programme with an inspiring evening celebrating the island's rich musical traditions, artistic heritage and festive customs.

Join the acclaimed ANTAMA Music Group—Anna Aristeidou (vocals and percussion), Nicolas Vryoni (vocals and violin) and Charalampos Theodorou (vocals and lute)—for a captivating journey through the traditional music of Cyprus.

Drawing on centuries of musical tradition, the ensemble will perform beloved folk melodies and songs inspired by the cycles of life and the changing seasons. Audiences will experience music celebrating love, migration, community and memory, alongside traditional Cypriot Christmas carols, with a selection of festive carols from Greece completing this joyful seasonal celebration.

Adding a unique visual dimension to the evening, ceramic artist Maria Michael will create a traditional koukoumara live on stage. As the clay gradually takes shape before the audience's eyes, music and craftsmanship come together in a compelling artistic dialogue, revealing the deep connection between Cyprus's musical and ceramic traditions. The performance culminates in an invitation for the audience to become part of the creative experience through participation, interaction and shared celebration.

Founded in Limassol in 2010, ANTAMA has become one of Cyprus's leading ambassadors of traditional music. Through extensive research, performance and education, the ensemble has dedicated itself to preserving and sharing the island's musical heritage with contemporary audiences. Their work has taken them to festivals and cultural events across Cyprus and around the world, including appearances in Europe, North America and the Middle East. In 2014, they were featured on the acclaimed ERT1 television programme Alati tis Gis (The Salt of the Earth), dedicated to the traditional music and dances of Cyprus.

As the Cultural Section's final event of 2026, this special concert offers a fitting conclusion to a remarkable year of cultural activity, bringing together music, craftsmanship and community in a warm celebration of Cyprus's living heritage before the festive season.
