Theatro Technis, LondonPerformed in Greek Cypriot dialect with English supertitles

The Cultural Section of the Cyprus High Commission in the UK presents a powerful staged reading of An Album of Stories (Ένα Άλμπουμ Ιστορίες) by Antonis Georgiou, adapted for the stage by Marina Vrondi and Valentinos Kokkinos, and directed by Marios Theocharous.

Based on the European Union Prize-winning book, An Album of Stories is a lyrical exploration of memory, loss, and the quiet heroism of everyday life. At the heart of the piece is Grandma Despina, whose fading memory becomes the thread that ties together generations of voices—siblings, children, neighbours, and carers.

Structured like a photo album found in the back of a drawer—full of scattered images, fragmented narratives, and tender recollections—the play captures the essence of home, the humour and pain of growing up, and the ways we carry our loved ones within us.

This one-night-only performance brings together five compelling performers:

Lucy Christophi, Elena Hadjiafxendi, Alexandros Fragkos, Kostas Tekkis, and Nicole Christophi.

Part of Cyprus Week at Theatro Technis, this performance celebrates the richness of contemporary Cypriot literature and its resonance across cultures and languages.
