2026 Cultural Season - Organised by the Cultural Section of the Cyprus High Commission in the United Kingdom

In 2026, Cyprus will hold the Presidency of the Council of the European Union, a milestone year for public engagement, diplomacy, and cultural visibility. To mark this occasion, the Cultural Section of the Cyprus High Commission in the UK is curating a yearlong cultural season to celebrate Cypriot creativity across the UK.

Alongside six flagship projects - including orchestral concerts, theatre, cinema, and monthly artist spotlights - we are now launching an Open Call for Cultural Actions. This is an opportunity for artists, curators, and cultural organisers to propose small-scale projects that will complement and enrich the programme throughout the entire 2026 calendar year.

✨ Thematic Focus

We invite proposals that respond to the core themes of our 2026 season:

• Women and everyday life – the intimate, the overlooked, and the powerful woman in her personal and domestic life.

• Cyprus as a cultural bridge – past, present, and future connections between East and West, Europe and the Eastern Mediterranean.

  
  

We are looking for proposals that bring these themes to life with originality, sensibility, and vitality. Eligible projects might include:

🎭 Performances | 🖼️ Exhibitions | 🎶 Concerts | 🎤 Talks

🎥 Screenings | 🧵 Workshops | 📚 Readings | ✨ Interdisciplinary formats

Projects can take place anywhere in the UK, in person or online, and should reflect a distinct Cypriot cultural voice or contribute meaningfully to the season’s overarching themes.

🗓 Timeline:

• Open for proposals: 10th July 2025

• Deadline for submissions: 25th August 2025

• The Cultural Section will be closed: 8th – 18th August

• Final day for enquiries: Thursday 21st August 2025
