Documentary screening at Cypriot Community Centre, Earlham Grove, London N22 5HJ

The documentary, produced by Panicos Neocleous in 2011, narrates the true story of Yannis Maratheftis, a Greek-Cypriot and Fethi Akıncı, a Turkish-Cypriot who fought on opposite sides during the Turkish invasion in Cyprus. Memories follows the journey of Akıncı to locate the soldier (Maratheftis) he shot in 1974 and the friendship which consequently developed between them, promoting a message of peace and reconciliation.
